BPS Virtual Networking Event for Young Latin American Biophysicists

BPS Virtual Networking Event for Young Latin American Biophysicists

The Laboratory of Biophysics, Biochemistry and Protein Bioinformatics (PB3) of the UC Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering (IIBM) and the Millennium Institute of Integrative Biology (iBio), and the Organization Young Initiative on Biophysics invite the biophysical Society-sponsored virtual event "Challenges in times of pandemic and its aftermath for young Latin American Biophysicists"
This event will focus on discussing the difficulties students, researchers and researchers in Latin America have faced in continuing their work in biophysics, biochemistry and related disciplines during the pandemic and discuss strategies to address these difficulties, as well as making visible the twists and turns our research has undergone to help address this health emergency. To do this, we will have talks by postdoctoral and graduate students, as well as discussions between attendees to encourage conversation and the creation of collaborative networks. The list of exhibitors is as follows:
– Maira Rivera, postdoctoral researcher, IIBM Pontifical Catholic University of Chile / Millennium Institute of Integrative Biology (iBio), Chile
– Ezequiel Frigini, PhD student, Instituto de Matemática Aplicada de San Luis (CONICET-USL), Argentina
– Rodrigo Tomás Grau, postdoctoral researcher, Research Institute in Molecular and Applied Cell Medicine CONICET-UNT, Argentina
– Dayane Dos Santos Alvares, postdoctoral researcher, UNESP, Brazil
– Hannibal M. Reyes, Young Researcher, Department of Biochemistry and CEINBIO, Faculty of Medicine, UdelaR, Uruguay
This event is mainly aimed at undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral students and young researchers in biophysics, biochemistry and related areas of Latin America. Registration is free and can be done athttps://www.biophysics.org/upcoming-networking-events/challenges-in-times-of-pandemic-and-its-aftermath-for-young-latin-american-biophysicists.
