Crypto: 4th meeting of art, science and Digital culture

Under the crypto concept, the4th meeting of art, science and Digital cultureHe inaugurated his version in Santiago on Friday, October 19, at the Museum of Visual Arts MAVI, in correspondence with the version in Valparaiso on Saturday, October 13.


Crypto, 4th EACCD seeks to reflect on the data and the digital flow as raw material for research and production both scientific and artistic.In a developing country and more contextualized increasingly global information movement, this initiative proposes to work from this intersection which implies a direct relationship with our evolution as a community, based on a diagnosis and imaging policies for the development and implementation of new models of thinking, education, and knowledge.

Organized by the Corporation Chilena Video (CChV) with the support of the Ministry of culture, arts and heritage, and thanks to program other institutions collaborating 2018,the meeting brings together artists, curators, scientists and cultural agents to open discussions on the social, cultural and scientific transformations facing the country, taking also into account the recent creation of the Ministry of science, Technology, knowledge and innovation. In this way, crypto looks for a critical reflection on the guidelines, criteria and parameters necessary for the formation of a future National Plan of art, science and Digital culture.

The initiative includes a calendar of events in Valparaiso and Santiago, with programming consisting of lectures, workshops, laboratories and Visual concerts, as the presentation of a documentary and the development of a publication that is he poses as a recommendation arising from the disciplinary sector of art and science.

20.30:Visual concert of Carlos heads.Residence space arts the musician national and member of appliances, Carlos Cabezas, will present the result of the residence space arts, held in August this year in ALMA Observatory (Atacama Large Millimetre Array), where the artist is he delved into the astronomical Center to generate creations that will make up this visual concert.

In the afternoon will take place an aPublishing laboratory with six thematic working groups: Methodology of collective construction of contents about 6 tables themes: economy of culture and science; Policy and institutional framework; Education and mediation; Production and research; Philosophy, art and science; Display, conservation, and file. Reflections and conclusions of the instance will be collected and presented a final micropublicacion on potential policies for the relationship through art and science.


It organizes:

Chilean Video and Electronic Arts Corporation. This Corporation was founded in 1993 with the objective of promoting a context for training, development, research, production and dissemination of video art, media arts, and media arts in Chile. The Corporation seeks to "promote the union between art, science and technology, through a sample of video, media arts, and social sciences and exact, based on a cultural exchange between Chile and other countries". Currently, developing a series of residencies in science centers, and prepares the 14th edition of the Biennale of media arts for the 2 half of 2019.
