Debate about the need for a scientific institutions in Chile

April 13, Thursday opened a discussion about project of Ministry of science in Chile, which took place in the elective of general training "Dialogues of science, politics and society" of the University of Chile. This time participated in the day: Karla Rubilar (Deputy and member of the science and Technology Committee), Pablo Jorquera Armijo (Advisor, Secretary general of the Republic) and Pablo Astudillo (founder movement "more science to Chile" and author "Manifesto for Science: A new story for Science in Chile"). This session is called: institutional scientific because we need and what we want it? Is there a scientific policy in Chile?, which focused on the analysis of these questions, as well as the analysis of the current draft of the Government which is based on 3 levels or pillars at the political level (Mineduc, MinCyT and Decree). In addition, the situation in Chile compared to other countries, discussed the current context that is science, and the recent development of scientific policies in the world.
