Dr. Mónica Imarai, exhibitor confirmed Congress of the society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology 2017

Dr. Monica Imarai obtained her PhD at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and did her PhD thesis at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NY, under the supervision of Dr. Stanley G. Nathenson investigating the diversity of T cell receptors specific for the VSV antigenic peptide (N52-59) bound by the H-2Kb class I molecule. Since 1993, she has worked at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile where she created the Laboratory of Immunology and actually led a research group in fish immunology. In this field, she is contributing to understand adaptive immunity of the trout and salmon, developing new tools and assays to analyse salmon immune responses to infections, vaccines or functional diets but also to understand the mechanisms of immune response.
