It is with pleasure that I, along with Vince Conticello, Louise Serpell, Jerson Silva, and Ting Xu, invite you to attend the Polymers and Self-Assembly: From Biology to Nanomaterials Meeting being held October 25-30, 2015, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The deadline to submit an abstract is June 22, and the deadline to register at the early registration rate is July 27. Abstract submission is free.
This meeting will focus on polymers, extending from those formed by peptides and other synthetic constructs to those formed by proteins. The biological protein polymers will range from filaments such as F-actin and microtubules to the pathological ones formed by amyloid. It will be a unique opportunity for people who work in biology, chemistry, physics, and materials science to get together. There will be many discussions on the use of techniques such as cryo-EM, x-ray diffraction and scattering, and NMR to understand the structure and dynamics of polymers. The program will be completed with oral presentations selected from the abstracts submitted. In addition, there will be several highly interactive poster sessions.
