Students for thesis of Fondecyt project on control of methane production is looking for in the rumen. The project consists of experiments of continuous and discontinuous fermenters in vitro fermentation, and an experiment in vivo inhibition of Methanogenesis in the rumen of dairy cows. Experiments of in vitro fermentation will take place in premises of the Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA) Carrillanca, Temuco, in the laboratory of Dr. Emilio Ungerfeld, while the experiment with animals will take place at the Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA) Remehue, Osorno, in the unit of Digestion and metabolism of ruminant in charge of the DRA. The or the thesis may be pursuing studies in microbiology, biochemistry, agriculture, veterinary medicine, bioprocesses, biotechnology, or other similar areas. It is a supplementary stipend of $2,500,000 per year, as well as transportation to the workplace.
