Alejandra Mizala will be in charge of the sessions of Council of Conicyt after the departure of Mario Hamuy
In his capacity as Vice President, the researcher at the University of Chile shall be responsible for taking this role from next month when the current President leaves office.
After the announcement of the resignation presented by the President of the National Commission of scientific and technological research (Conicyt), Mario Hamuy, the institution, belonging to the Ministry of education, explained that who will take the responsibility of managing the session of the Council will be Alejandra Mizala.
Mizala is PhD in economics from the University of California-Berkeleywho currently also serves as Vice President of the ministerial body. Along with this, the scientist is currently part of the Centre of advanced research in education (CIAE) University of Chile
According to the statement issued by Conicyt, Chile Government - through the Ministry of education -"It valued the work of Mario Hamuy during this period", it will be extended until 31 October when they leave office.
