An entry level postdoctoral position is available in the Carman laboratory at the Center for Lipid Research within the Institute for Food, Health, and Nutrition at Rutgers University.  The laboratory is known for its studies on the molecular genetics and biochemical regulation of lipid metabolism.  The current focus is to understand mechanisms by which membrane phospholipids are synthesized along with the synthesis of triacylglycerol (fat).  Research projects include structure-function analyses and posttranslational modifications (e.g., phosphorylation, dephosphorylation, and ubiquitination) of the phosphatidic acid phosphatase and its regulator the Nem1-Spo7 phosphatase.  Additional information about the Carman laboratory that includes reprints of recent publications is found at  The applicant is expected to have expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology.  Submit a cover letter with your career objectives, a CV, and the email addresses of three references to Dr. George M. Carman (  Rutgers University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
