The Laboratories of Neurophysiology and Genetic and Molecular Psychiatry at the University of Concepcion offer postdoctoral opportunities (see below) to study the role of genetic conditions in psychiatric and mental states and the role of glycine receptors in alcoholism.

Molecular biologist. Will participate in all aspects of research and development in the Genetic and Molecular Psichiatry lab. He(she) will carry out research in the molecular genetic area with emphasis on psychiatry and mental health and additions of the highest quality. In charge of cloning, sequencing, genotification, mutation and expressing proteins of interest to the research carried out.

Cell Biologist / Pharmacologist. Will conduct research in all areas of the Neurophysiology Laboratory. In charge of characterizing effects and mechanisms of action of active molecules in the nervous system.

It is expected that both postdocs will develop a rich level of collaborations, including the application for additional extramural funding.

The position is for three years. It is best suited for proactive, goal-oriented, recently graduated Ph.D.s with experience in two or more techniques already mentioned and willing to live and work in Chile. The selected applicants are expected to be able to work in a collaborative manner and be productive publishing results in ISI Journals.
