Carlos Rivera, biochemist and Magister of the biochemistry of our faculty, get medal Hermann Niemeyer 2018

Since 1993, theSociety of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Chilemakes annual delivery of theMedal Hermann Niemeyer, a recognition to an outstanding from any doctoral program in the areas of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and other related areas. This year the award went inCarlos Rivera (June 7) PhD student in biological sciences, mention in cell biology, of the Catholic University, and graduated fromBiochemistry and master of biochemistry of our faculty.

According to the SBB, "his research does it focusin Biochemical basis of epigenetics, studying the mechanisms of Association of chromatin protein CoREST,i.e., how they interact with the DNA". His research will take you in October to an internship at the Harvard Medical School, where locked in theLaboratory of Dr. Jeannie T. Lee. Also will participate with a talk on the25-28 September society Congressin Iquique, in whose closing ceremony will receive recognition.
