Curso de posgrado: “THERAPEUTIC MAMMALIAN CELL-DERIVED GLYCOPROTEINS: DESIGN, EXPRESSION AND GLYCOSYLATION ANALYSIS”.

Crops cell (LCC) of the Faculty Debioquimica laboratory and biological sciences of the UNL will take
graduate school called out: "THERAPEUTIC MAMMALIAN CELL - DERIVED GLYCOPROTEINS:"
DESIGN, EXPRESSION AND GLYCOSYLATION ANALYSIS".

The course is oriented to graduate in biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy, Bachelor's degree in biology or
related and will be financed by the following institutions:

  • CABBIO (Argentine Biotechnology Center)
  • ICGEB (International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology)
  • UNU-BIOLAC (University of the Nations United-program of biotechnology for Latin America and the Caribbean)

Directors: Dr. Guillermina Forno and Dr. Marcos Oggero

Date and duration: the course will be held from 3 to 8 September 2018 in full-time mode (45 hours of lectures workshops and 5 hours of practical classes.).

Objectives:

  • Discuss the structural diversity of glycoproteins and their functional importance for human health.
  • Review techniques to carry out engineering of therapeutic proteins through introduction of new Glycans and realize glicoingenieria of guests used for the expression of glycoproteins.
  • Evaluate complementary analytical methods used to describe the structure of glycoproteins glycosidic.
  • Describe the analytical methods used for the quality control of therapeutic glycoproteins.
  • Learn about comparability and biosimilitud of biotherapeutic and General characteristics that must be taken into account for the transfer of technology to the productive sector.

The design of the course aims to provide participants basic knowledge with respect to the functionality of the carbohydrates and the biological role of glycoproteins. Will delve deeply into the mechanisms for the expression of glycoprotein recombinant bioactive in mammalian cells as well as the implementation of the glicoingenieria as a methodology to confer improvements in the therapeutic properties of proteins of produced in such guests pharmaceutical interest. Analytical methods for describing the structure will be discussed glycosidic of glycoproteins such as liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance.
