Information society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of 2018 Chile Congress

Dear members and friends of the society,

As we wanted to inform you of progress for our XLI annual meeting of the society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology 2018.

This meeting will be from 25 to 28 September 2018, at the hotel Gavina Sens of Iquique

As a major modification, the Congress will end with the feast of the day Thursday, September 27 and September 28 breakfast. I.e., not have talks the day Friday and the delivery of awards will be in the dinner of gala final.

Also the date of receipt of abstracts will be waydelayed from July 15, 2018.

It is important to mention that the official language of the Congress will be English. I meanall presentations will be in English. We have several interested in participation from abroad.
You can book lunch and dinner by the days of the Congress at the time of registration (3 lunches and 1 dinner), the cost is $60,000. The welcome cocktail and the final dinner are included with registration.

Accommodation each partner should be responsible in particular. The hotel will have preferential rates for participants of the Congress (detail in)https://www.sbbmch.cl/?page_ID = 14220).

In addition, we'd like to comment that the transfer from the airport to the hotel has an approximate cost of $5000 and it takes about an hour to reach the hotel. Taxi costs around $18000, with a time of 30 minutes approximately to reach the hotel. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Centre.

Support to students and partners without financing.

As society are still making a great effort to support our partners in time the financial situation for the national science is not the most optimal. First of all, registration prices will not suffer any change with respect to 2017.

This year the SBBMCh will deliver a limited number of scholarships to students of undergraduate (thesis/memory/seminar of registered title), magister (approved draft) and doctoral (PhD candidate), to partially pay for accommodation and food. This scholarship will not cover the registration.Each scholarship amounts to $150,000.
The scholarship application must be concocted by the student to present the work orally or mode poster, who must be also the first author of the abstract. The amount awarded will be awarded to the student but required the signature of the sponsoring partner to deliver it. There will be a maximum of 1 scholarships by partner. Requested that at the time of application the student indicates who is sponsoring the working partner in case that this is not the Principal investigator of the laboratory (but the sponsoring partner must be author of the work to present).
The scholarship of the SBBMCh isincompatibleCONICYT scholarship for assistance to Congress. Therefore, if the student was awarded scholarship CONICYT may not apply for Fellowship of the society (if it is subsequently awarded the CONICYT scholarship, must return the scholarship society).
For this nomination: A) student and sponsor shall have completed the registration process (i.e. up to July 15, 2018), B) student must have uploaded abstract the platform and send a signed letter explaining the need for the grant to Claudia Quezadaclaudiaquezada@uach.cluntil July 20, 2018. The student must send emailwith a copy to the sponsoring partner mail. In addition that becomes a holder of a scholarship, students must participate and assist in the delivery of microphones when there are questions in the sessions of the Congress. Once accepted the scholarship, Claudia Quezada distributed sessions scholarship students.

Also this year we will bescholarships for members who do not have any fundingand want to go to the Congress. Do not cover the registration. This scholarship will consist of $150,000 and will be delivered at the Congress. To apply, the partner must send a letter to Claudia Quezadaclaudiaquezada@uach.clexplaining the need for the scholarshipuntil July 20, 2018.

The scholarships will be announced prior to the Congress.
