The POSLATAM 2019 course will be held within the Revisiting the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology at the Single-Molecule Level thematic meeting to be held in the city of Lima, Peru on July 19-21, 2019. This meeting is sponsored by the U.S. Biophysical Society and is being organized by researchers from Peru, Chile, Argentina, and the USA.
The POSLATAM 2019 course has been designed to update the students in modern topics of biophysics and provide them multiple ways to interact with the leaders in the field, facilitate the exchange of knowledge, stimulate interactions and foster networking among them. The proposed structure of the activity will feature lectures, keynote speakers, discussion sessions, and poster presentations. Specific themes include biophysics of transcription, protein synthesis, folding, sorting and degradation, chaperone-mediated protein folding, DNA-protein interactions, molecular motors, as well as instrumentation, steered molecular dynamics, and single-molecule applications for understanding the biology of pathogens and infectious diseases.
This course is sponsored by the International Union for Pure and Applied Biophysics (IUPAB). IUPAB will provide grants to cover part of the air tickets and accommodations in Lima (Registration not included) for selected POSLATAM students! Therefore, students from POSLATAM are strongly encouraged to apply.
