Description
Several postdoctoral positions are available in the group of Cristian Lasagna-Reeves in the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute (SNRI) at Indiana University School of Medicine.

The lab’s main focus is to comprehensively elucidate the role that tau plays in neurodegenerative tauopathies. The successful candidate will work in a NIA-R01 founded project that is currently being developed in the lab. The research combines in vitro molecular and cellular techniques with mouse genetic and human postmortem tissue neuropathology with the goal of understanding the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative tauopathies.

As part of the  SNRI, the Lasagna-Reeves lab is supported by strong basic, clinical, and neuropathological resources, including the IU/JAX Alzheimer’s Disease Precision Models Center that uses cutting edge technology to develop, validate, and disseminate new, precise animal models for AD; the Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Center (IADC), that has one of the largest collections of banked blood, cerebrospinal fluid, a brain bank for neurodegenerative disorders, and cutting-edge technology for in vivo brain imaging and genomics.

Requirements
The candidate should have interest in neurodegenerative diseases, protein aggregation, and tau models. She or he must possess a Ph.D. or MD degree or both, as well as documented experiences and skills in neurochemistry, molecular neurobiology, and/or behavioral studies.
